Train2Validate Erasmus+ project participated last March 7th in AXS Chat, an open online community of individuals dedicated to creating an inclusive world. The General Project Manager of the project, Óscar García, and the partner leader from SDI Munich, Rocío Bernabé, talk to Neil Milliken, VP – Global Head of Accessibility & Digital Inclusion at Atos, and Antonio Vieira Santos, Atos Social Media Business Evangelist about easy-to-read and the next development of training for validators and facilitators.
In the conversation, Train2Validate members explain the main milestones of the project, that expects the creation of a certified training for easy-to-read validators and facilitators. They highlighted that there is a lack of training for easy-to-read, generally speaking, and Train2Validate covers a necessary place to improve employment chances for people with intellectual disabilities.
García and Bernabé also supported the need of testing the accessibility solutions with end-users. Other topics that arose where the relevance of pictures to understand information and possible clashes with cultures that cause nuisance. Additionally, García and Bernabé remarked the difference between plain language and easy-to-read, as each solution has a different target group and content objectives.
AXSChat invites regularly experts on different accessibility. The event consists of a conversation among the Atos accessibility heads and the experts that is streamed in Twitter. After the conversation, a chat is open where AXS Chat community managers launch a battery of questions about the topic discussed and expect participation from Twitter users chatting under the hashtag #AXSChat.
